ShowTime

ShowTime is a Max for Live device designed for playback engineers, musical directors, and any musician using Ableton Live to manage a live set. It measures the total duration of all MIDI clips placed on an Arrangement track, so you can know exactly how long your set runs. Ideal for bands that need to hit an assigned stage time: festivals, corporate events, opening slots, or any situation where time on stage matters. ShowTime scans every MIDI clip on the track where it’s installed, sums their real-world duration (including sections affected by tempo automation / tempo changes), and outputs the result in minutes and seconds. ## Installation 1. Drag ShowTime.amxd onto any MIDI track in Arrangement View. 2. On that same track, place all MIDI clips that represent the songs in your set. 3. Make sure playback is stopped before running the device. ## Use 1. Press the Check button. 2. ShowTime will automatically scan the track and calculate the duration. 3. The result appears on screen within a few seconds. ## Important notes 1. The device must be on a MIDI track in Arrangement View (not Session View). 2. Playback must be stopped when you use the device. 3. ShowTime temporarily moves the playhead internally to read the tempo at each point in the Arrangement. This is required to calculate correctly in projects with tempo changes. The playhead returns to its original position when finished. ---- ShowTime es un dispositivo Max for Live pensado para ingenieros de playback, directores musicales y cualquier músico que use Ableton Live para gestionar repertorio en vivo. ShowTime recorre todos los clips MIDI de la pista donde está instalado, suma su duración real (incluyendo zonas con automatizaciones de tempo) y devuelve el resultado en minutos y segundos. ## Instalación 1. Arrastrar `ShowTime.amxd` a cualquier pista MIDI del Arrangement. 2. Colocar en esa misma pista todos los clips MIDI que representan las canciones del set. 3. Asegurarse de que la reproducción esté **detenida** antes de ejecutar. ## Uso 1. Presionar el botón Check. 2. ShowTime recorrerá automáticamente la pista y calculará la duración. 3. El resultado aparece en pantalla en pocos segundos. ## Notas importantes 1. El dispositivo debe estar en una pista MIDI del Arrangement (no en Session View). 2. La reproducción debe estar detenida al momento de usar el dispositivo. 3. ShowTime mueve el playhead internamente para leer el tempo en cada punto del Arrangement. Esto es necesario para calcular correctamente en proyectos con cambios de tempo. El playhead vuelve a su posición original al terminar.
